A full-bodied red with terrific structure and depth. Judicious use of oak wraps around blackberries and some dark spice notes. A pleasantly bitter, dry finish. Another classic red from Australia.

Shiraz Mourvèdre food pairings: char-grilled steak, prime rib, osso buco, beef brisket.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

I was BBQ'ing when I opened this beauty. I was having a steak and felt the Syrah Mourvedre combination would stand up to it. While I was grilling I was captivated by how smooth this full bodied wine was. With aromas of fruit and white pepper, it was perfectly balanced and delicious. Dark fruits, pepper and spice, with a hint of chocolate on the palate allows this wine to be enjoyed by itself or with food.
A magical blend of 81% Shiraz and 19% Mourvèdre that pushes all the right buttons. Black licorice, black fruit and black pepper on the nose. The palate is rich and generous and oh-so-tasty. Spicy and flavourful. This is a real conversation starter. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, July 2013
