Reviews and Ratings

Trevor Sabourin - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The fruit seems to be mostly Grenache on the nose: raspberry jam, red plum, just a bit of shiraz dark cherry and blackberry. There are some beautiful, fresh aromas of violet and eucalyptus, along with cocoa, cedar, vanilla, anise, wood smoke, black olive, and a bit of black pepper. The shiraz asserts itself on the palate as blackberry, dark cherry, blueberry, black pepper, and leather, along with some menthol. Velvety grenache texture, medium tannins, slightly higher acidity. Long finish, with blueberry, dark cherry, and cocoa. Tasty!
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Tannin monster. Moderate intensity fruit aromas (cooked raspberry mostly), a hint violets and a pronounced smokey/gamey character. Palate is overpowered with tannins. Key flavours include: bitter chocolate, unripe plums, oak and a hint of smoked meat. You can literally chew this wine. Finish is long and grippy with hints of menthol and pithy unripe plums The tannins are young but if you like grippy, go for it. Consider pairing with some fatty though: rib eye perhaps.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
