rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a very impressive Merlot and whether Dad is an oenophile, wine collector, connoisseur, or not, Painted Rock’s Merlot 2011 can’t help but impress. Deep, dark ruby red in a glass, the first thing that is apparent on the nose is this wine is rich. Ripe, fresh fruits, both black and red, anise, French oak, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla all come forward at first sniff. On the palate, the wine is dry, just as fruit rich and powerful with velvety, mouth coating tannins. This Merlot is full-bodied for sure, with the ability to enjoy now (decant) and to become even more elegant with a couple of years in cellar. Perfect as a gift for Dad or for a Dad’s Day BBQ – definitely think rib steak, or pair with a beef tenderloin or rib roast.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
