Balanced and luscious cool climate Californian Chardonnay from Sonoma. Butterscotch nose that's very attractive (and from oak aging) is balanced with peach and golden apple notes. Nice balancing acidity on the palate for roast chicken or turkey. Lovely, classic Californian Chardonnay.

Chardonnay food pairings: apple and aged cheddar grilled cheese sandwich, chicken supreme with mushroom risotto, pan-fried cod with lemon butter sauce, spring rolls with spicy sweet chili sauce.

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

There is lots of minerality in this toasty Chardonnay from the Sonoma region, as well as ripe peach, apple, toasted almond and a touch of oak. The wood notes follow through on the palate as well as Granny Smith Apple and lemon flavours. Overall, a nice product!

Californian winemaker Bill Batchelor makes "great wine for the discerning masses" (is that last part an oxymoron or just back label humour?) Chardonnay wine grapes for Martin Ray (2016) were sourced in cool-cool climate Russian River Valley This Chard is a nice balance between zesty citrus freshness, ripe stonefruit and a creamy mouthfeel. Pair with grilled chicken breast. - Community Wine Reviews
