A satisfying and pleasant red with good structure and black fruit aromas. Full-bodied but not overly heavy. A well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon that finishes with attractive blackberry and smoke. Lovely. Highly recommended.

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2007 Joffré E Hijas Grand Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested from old vines and then aged for 10 months in oak before bottling, has fullish nose of blackberry, figs, blackcurrant, graphite and faint eucalyptus. It is a full bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine; with checked acidity, refined tannins and a long, smooth, tongue-coating finish. It is both food and sipping friendly; drink now – 2020+, evolution potential +1. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 (+1) pts – recommended for both its quality and value. Tasted Nov/13.

Earthy/underbrush and spice-driven dark berry fruit aromas intro this mid-weight, extremely well-balanced Cab. It’s tangy and racy on entry and mid palate with red currant and sour cherry broadening out on the spice-laden aftertaste with cassis and ripe dark berry fruit. Score: 3½ (out of 5).
