Natalie's Score: 89/100

This full-bodied red wine is classic California Cabernet at a great price! Balanced and tasty with lovely dark fruit and just enough oak. Enticing aromas of cassis, blackberry and vanilla smoke. Supple, smooth and full-bodied. Mocha and dark chocolate on the finish. Perfect for a juicy steak this evening.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: barbecued chicken, spare ribs in a sweet-and smoky sauce, pork, hodge podge, salad.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Louise Wilson ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Very Cabernet, with lots of minty blackberry notes and lovely toasty oak. Ripe fruit, and easy drinking tannins make this wine a crowd pleaser. Perfect with Tuesday meatloaf or Sunday roast beef. Drink through 2014. Tasted Jan 2014.
The familiar depth of cherry, tobacco, blackberry pie, tar and cassis aromas greet the nose here. Consistency has been this wine's calling card for years, and it delivers yet again. Round and generous with layers of dark fruit flavour and excellent Cali Cab character and typicity. A no-worries-no-brainer. Source: Vintages Wine Ratings and Reviews Nov. 2013

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
