More Wine Reviews and Ratings

rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The tang of sour cherry, and a lash of spicy leather. Smooth, clean and very well priced, it’s a ripe pick. Well paired against a with a good chicken cacciatore or anything tomato based like pasta or gourmet pizza; but try not to pigeonhole this red. Despite its rustic leanings the Il Clou Dogliani Superiore has enough structure to break out the white truffle oil, balancing that earthiness against a whiff of cigar and well worn leather and a bracing cherry taste.
This wine was awarded a rating of 2 Glasses (out of 3) (Remarkable Wine) in Gambero Rosso 2013. Leather, sour cherry and pepper stand out on this complex nose. Red cherry and spicy leather braced by a spine of bright acidity. Very nice depth to the characterful and rustic palate. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Aug. 2013

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
