Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A: At first this wine was very funky and gamey like I expect from a mourvedre-based bandol. Now on day 4, it’s oxidised more and the fruit has really taken centre stage. Smells like plum pudding now, with root vegetable and mossy accents with a dash of vanilla as well. Palate possesses that full, sinewy mourvedre texture that I love and that causes me to think of spiderwebs—very thread-like and aristocratic. Loaded with sour cherry and just-ripe strawberry, hints of tarragon and nutmeg, fine-grained tannin and decent acidity. Good stuff but pricey. Put this to a port and mushroom reduction sauce on filet mignon with a side of parsnips and sunchokes!

P: Bandol you little bandit. How spicy you are, like a Christmas gingersnap cookie. Your smell alone is intoxicating yet you’re quite pretty to look at as well! Such a deep dark cherry color in the center and lightening up to a soft burgundy at the edges. Sadly you are a bit sour for my personal taste but I know you’re a bandit who’s stolen many hearts, including Alex’s!
