A robust and dark-fruited merlot with luscious layers of flavour. Smoky and richly concentrated. At wine that's at ease beside the BBQ or on the dinner party table.

Merlot food pairings: bourbon smoked ribs, hanger steak, brisket, pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

The grapes for this Merlot came from the north hill of our Red Winery Road Vineyard, and were harvested on the 29th of September. Ten days later, it went to press without any extended maceration, and was sent to barrel for 20 months in 40 percent new French oak. It is 100% Merlot. The smell is at once delicate and intense – floral, spicy, red cherry --surprising character for a wine of such modest alcohol.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
