Fort Berens Estate Winery Meritage 2010
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Fort Berens Estate Winery Meritage 2010 Wine Review
A balanced, full-bodied red from a blend of 70% merlot, 25% cabernet sauvignon and 5% cabernet franc. It offers aromas of blackcurrant and cassis with some spice on the finish. The tannic grip is still strong so decant for 2 hours or try to give it another year in the cellar. This winery has a lot of potential. 4.4/5 Meritage food pairings: steak.
