Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lush and rich velvety tannins - this wine is very smooth on the palate and ready to drink now! Notes of cassis, leather, prunes, cedar, dried fruit, mocha and vanilla notes finished with a good balanced acidity. Extremely food friendly because of its complexity, the smoothness of its texture, as well as its level of acidity. I wouldn’t keep aging this wine: Drink it now as I doubt it will gain more complexity. Beautiful - Grab it before its gone.
Don Jacobo 2005 is a Gran Reserva Rioja red wine blend. Mature with dried cherry and berry fruit, tanned leather and smoky flavours on the palate aged in new American oak barrels from three years. Enjoy now and for the next two years. This vintage was awarded Platinum for Best Red Rioja Gran Reserva. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
