Produced by the Duckhorn Wine Company, a robust red wine blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Merlot, 3% Zinfandel and splashes of Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah matured in French oak. Rich with generous black and blueberry fruit, smoky vanilla, mocha and savoury herb flavours with balanced acidity. Tannins are firm but manageable. Enjoy with grilled beef or lamb dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jisun Hahn CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Cabernet Sauvignon from a well known producer has an excellent backbone with firm tannins and medium plus acidity, a combination that is well integrated and balanced. Smoke and spice dominate the palate with hints of blackberries and graphite lying underneath. This wine can be enjoyed now or left to evolve over the next 5 to 7 years. Would pair well with veal milanese on top of orzo pasta tossed with parmesan and basil.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A mainly Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Sonoma County, this wine attracts attention with its distinctive label. Medium to full-bodied, there are aromas of dark fruit to start, and some grassy, herbal notes on the palate. The finish is smooth and smoky. Pair with barbequed beef or lamb.
Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is a rich and robust Cabernet Sauvignon red wine blend with some Merlot, Zinfandel, Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah sourced from vineyards in Sonoma County, California. On the nose, cassis and dark plum aromas, juicy black and blueberry fruit with vanilla, mocha and savoury flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm. - Community Wine Reviews
