Reviews and Ratings

This single vineyard Australian red wine is made form the Shiraz grape. These winemakers see the devil in the weeds, allowing dandelions to grow among the vine grows as they suppress other weeds and provide nutritious mulch. The "wishing clocks" of white seed in the spring provide new life. The Shiraz grapes are sourced form a single vineyard in the foothills of the McLaren Vale. The vines are planted in ironstone pebble laden with clay loam, over ancient Kurrajong Formation geology of silica cemented conglomerate ieally suited to grow Shiraz. Bunches are hand picked in mid-March and fermented together in open top fermenters with ambient yeast and hand plunging for 12 days before basket pressing and aging in mostly French oak barriques before bottling without fining. Full-bodied, robust and rustic with full-throttle black fruit, smoke, oak and spice aromas. Polished tannins and a long finish. Decant 1 hour and pair with rare steak. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
