Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A very nice expression of Sonoma Cabernet and one of Paul Hobbs more economical offerings. Juicy deep ruby colour indicative of the sunny and hot 2012 vintage. Enticing aromas abound with ripe red plums, fresh bitten cherry, baking spices, cassis, graphite and leather. Full-bodied and polishing tannins with flavour characteristics of blueberry, tar, clove, dark cherry and warming alcohol. This wine is XD and medium balanced acidity. Definite cellar potential and worth the price tag if you're a collector - or great gift wine.
Tasted: January 2016
The 2012 vintage was a strong one for California and it shows in this Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon Crossbarn with grapes grown in Sonoma. Notes of pencil led, black plum and dark spice. Polished tannins. Community Wine Reviews
