Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Brilliant pale straw. Stone fruit dominant with tart, crisp acidity, limestone minerality. Well balanced. Integrated alcohol. Pairs well with sea salted popcorn, jumbo bacon wrapped sea scallops. Tasted June 2017. 91 points.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Absolutely divine orchard fruit, vanilla, and honeysuckle aromas. This Prince Edward Country (Ontario) Chardonnay showcases superb balance in acidity, a buttery mouthfeel, and a long baked apple grapefruit finish. An elegant wine that will pair well in succulent king crab legs. Tasted June 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Dan Carkner reviewed this wine as follows:

Produced in a tough year from north vineyard fruit after the south vineyard was lost due to sub zero temperatures in late May. 10% new oak has created fruit flavours that require adjectives- creamy pear and golden delicious apple, buttery pineapple. Medium high acidity and stony minerality balance this wine out. In a vintage that saw only 5% of regular production across the appellation Closson Chase have managed to produce a fine Chardonnay that may prove hard to find.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
