Tannic and somewhat under-ripe, this may smooth out in the cellar. Generous oak with blackcurrant and cassis. Full-bodied and well-structured.

Meritage food pairings: steaks, grilled vegetables, gourmet hamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

To make this hugely popular wine, Moueix sources grapes – mostly Merlot – from several of St-Émilion’s best and most consistent small growers. Expect aromas and flavours of cherry, cedar, chocolate and black pepper. It’s medium bodied, so it should work with a variety of summer-time foods. The 2008 has quickly become an acclaimed and respected vintage.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
