Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 98/100 with the following review:

As you may have seen recently I have had the great pleasure of tasting some of the Château Lamartine wines. As with most wine tastings, we worked our way up to the top, the crème de la crème of the estates collection. In personel opinion this was my most favorite and I simply have to give it a 98, yes I know that a high score, but my fellow followers, this is a wine that is simply a celebration in a bottle.

In the glass this wine is the depth of lucious Balck berries.

On the nose there are hearty cooked fruits of plums, black currants, mineral, mushroom, green leaves, wood.

On the palate, wows, this is a meaty wine. A slight animal tone releases itself to make way for the fruits, black cherries, black currant, figs and orange peel. The tone changes and becomes more terroir, mineral, that of mushrooms and almost a cedar base. Licorice releases itself before a delicious dark chocolate intertwined with a delicate spice. Good lengthy tannins

Decant at least 45 minutes before hand.

Delicious with foie gras, game birds, red meat. Chocolate!

Bottoms up!
