A crisp, fresh Niagara white wine made from the Aligote grape, the second grape of Burgundy and far less well-known than Chardonnay. Medium-bodied. Aromas of melon and pear. Match with seafood.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aligote may be best known in its homeland, Burgundy, France, however, Ontario also produces some very tasty Aligote given their cool climate which allows this varietal to shine. Chateau des Charmes Aligote shows fresh cut apple, pear, and sweet tropical fruits on the nose. Unoaked to preserve the crisp and refreshing characteristics, with green apple, lemon, floral blossom, and honey on the palate. Enjoy with creamy dishes, grilled fish, and seafood. Tasted March 2017. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Fresh and fruity, Aligoté showing bright and brilliant pale straw. Declared 13% ABV. Ripe bosc pear, candied apple and a hint of apple blossom on the nose. On the palate showing Bartlett pear. Medium finish with persistence of ripe pear. Well balanced with medium acidity and fruit. Paired well with white wine risotto and baked white fish. Tasted March 2017. 88 points. BespokeTastings
