King of the Rhone for a reason: it’s spectacular in every dimension. Gorgeously concentrated flavours of black raspberry, cherry and blackberry, spices and smoke. Hedonistically long finish, incredible structure and aging potential. Full-bodied but doesn’t come off as hot or heavy.

Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Alex: This wine has a density, mid-palate depth and length that is at the top of recent vintages of Beaucastel in my view. Exotic, unusually ultra-ripe nose of sweet blackberry cobbler, raw meat, raspberry, sage, dark chocolate shavings and melted licorice. Stunning and rocking nose! Rich and sappy palate with waves of fruit, a thick, sensual texture, powerful mid-palate and ultra-fine, chalky tannin. Despite all its decadence it remains cool and sturdy, and 15% alcohol isn't really noticeable. A heavyweight, firing on all cylinders, and will age very well no doubt. Just beginning to start its secondary phase of evolution, it will be an all-time great, and well worth picking up if ever you see it. 94 pts, tasted Nov 2015.
