Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

I don't think my words can truly express the true wonder of this wine! In a blind tasting, I put this wine at a mid twenty dollar price point.....$17.95!!!!!! Incredible!

On the nose there is this almost fireside wooden oak notes, the nose opens up and reminds me of the mineral notes of the soil on a damp Forrest floor. As the fruits present themselves there are cherries, raspberries and plums. This is a wine that I really sence red Hawthorne berries. Incase your not familiar with its aroma, they are tight in flavour with a slight cranberry nuance combined with raspberry and wood.

On the palate, wow! What an intriguing mouthful. This wine is like an amazing roller coaster of flavour. A thrill of anticipation after the aromas and then the thrill of the ride!
There is a great burst of fruit, cherries, red Hawthorne berries and cooked plums. Damp wooden oak notes combined with a balancing minerality. Delicious leather notes mix with coffee bean before dark chocolate introduces herself. There are harmonious tannins which give way to a slight meaty tone. A combination of thyme and anise with a delicate pepper finish complete the ride with a great finish.....ahhhh, yum!

This would be a great accompaniment with a multitude of dishes from a sea food pizza to a beouf bourgingnon . For dessert I would match it a chocolate cheesecake with vanilla cream!

Bottoms up!
