Here we have another great producer, you may be familiar with the name Banfi, this is a classic house from Tuscany.
If your starting out with Tuscan wines, I would say this sets the tone for all the classic properties that you should expect to see , smell and taste.
The colour is that wondrous brick reddish brown colour.
On the nose there are soft voluptuous black cherries, with blackberries and the vanilla oak, typical from the barrels they are aged in.
On the palate, the cherries are slightly tart before the introduction off black berries with an apple blossom undertone. A punch of licorice comes forward before it leads gently into a brief pepper spice and then a herbal thyme note. A dry mouth with long tannins.
Delizioso e Classico!
