Broad strokes of black cherry flavour here in this big Californian Cabernet. Full-bodied and loaded with fleshy black fruit aromas plus some herbal notes. Finishes pleasantly with mocha and oak spice. Good tannin structure and balance. Needs a juicy steak. This robust Californian cabernet would be perfect with strong farmhouse cheeses. Cannonball represents freedom: the child with legs tucked up underneath him as he dives into the water. Lots of mocha, cocoa, cola, and smoke from generous oak aging. -

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby colour with thick slow moving legs showing extraction. You know before you sniff or sip that this will be a big wine. Pure California Cabernet Sauvignon with ripe red berrries, fresh picked strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, toast, toffee, pencil lead and dried herbs. There is no such thing as sipping Cannonball. It's a rich full mouthfeel with grainy tannins and medium+ acidity. It's a meal in a glass. This wine wants red meat. Made to be enjoyed now.
