Mastroberardino Fiano di Avellino 2014, Campania D.O.C.G., Italy: A pretty white floral Italian white wine that's medium-bodied and has a viscous texture with good weight. Perfect for meaty fish dishes. OTHER: One of Campania's classic whites, the 2014 Fiano di Avellino does a great job in a difficult vintage. Fiano grapes grow in volcanic soils with layers of thick gravel and ash. Peach, pear, citrus and Golden Delicious apple are major components of the bouquet. The mouthfeel in this cooler vintage is not as thick or creamy as past editions, but the acidity and the flavour persistency are well presented. Score - 90 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, March 22, 2015). Fiano Di Avellino food pairings: grilled calamari, grilled shrimp, pan-fried whitefish.
