Natalie's Score: 89/100

A full-bodied southern French wine with notes of dark red fruit and smoke on the nose and palate with warmth on the finish. The vines are planted on the garnite terraces to the north of Ardeche, where the famous Mistral winds keep the grapes dry which helps ripening. This red wine is made from the Syrah grape, which lends spiciness to the flavour.

Food pairings: rare rib roast, venison stroganoff, bison burgers.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Bring on the black pepper and coffe rubbed Prime Rib roast. Loved this medium (+) body Northern Rhône Syrah with it's abundance of pepper leaping from the glass! This softens quickly , however, and an elegance ensues. Cherry, red berries, floral, light-handed oaking, and leather embaced by polished tannins. Acidity is bright and balanced. This much French beauty and elegance should have an opulent price tag but at $30 this is a bargain. Perfect for grilled steak, braised lamb or sipped with a piece of cheese.
