Natalie's Score: 90/100

Smoky and toasty from oak aging with a comforting warmth on thepalate. Lots of black plums and cedar box on the palate and finish. This wine is a robust blend of 55% Tinta Roriz, 25% Touriga Franca, 20% Touriga Nacional. The vines are planted in schist soils at 200 to 400 metres above sea level. OTHER: The 2014 Cuvée Roman Tinto, aged four to six months in French oak, shows notes of roasted coffee, chocolate, black raspberry and blueberry, in a full-bodied, textured, impressive style. The tannins are supple, the wine an opaque purple, full-bodied and certainly capable of being drunk now or cellared for another 5-7 years. - Community Wine Reviews

Food pairings: roasted game meats, stuffed flank steak, three-pepper steak.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
