A spicy, medium-plus-bodied Pinot Noir from Niagara aged in French oak barrel for nearly two years. Look for tart cherry, mocha and herbal notes with sweet spice and dark chocolate flavours on the palate. The wine underwent a 30% wild ferment yeast with whole cluster grapes then malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Pair with veal chops.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roast leg of lamb, sautéed pork chops with wild mushrooms, butternut squash and onion risotto.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Perfumed nose with ripe cherry, spice and sous bois leads to a balanced palate that celebrates Niagara Pinot Noir. Lingering finish with touches of mocha and smoke. This is the Pinot Noir that makes Ontario proud! You won't find a better match for your holiday goose or turkey.
Tasted Nov. 2017
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is more of a full-bodied type Pinot Noir that is garnet coloured with a slight orange hue at the crown. Cigar box and cedar are the first aromas that come through, followed by dark berries, truffle, espresso and cocoa. On the palate, you can taste notes of wood, espresso and tart blackberries and black plums, with cocoa at the finish.

Tasted November 2017
From Vinemount Ridge in the Niagara Escarpment wine region, Westcott Estate (2013) Pinot Noir is medium-bodied, smooth and silky with intense cherry and earthy violet flavours on the palate. There were less than two tons an acre for this intensely-flavoured wine Pair with grilled chicken. - Community Wine Reviews
