Lush and modern Amarone, smoky and juicy with ripe dark fruit, liquid black cherry, cedar underbrush, spice cake, espresso coffee flavours, toasty on the palate. Produced by Sandro Boscaini. Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta wine grapes spend a long time drying on bamboo racks and the blended wine is matured for three years or more in oak casks. Pair with prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A smooth and elegant Amarone from Italy's Veneto D.O.C. Crafted using indigenous varietals from the Vallpolicella Classica region; Corvina, Rondinella, Molinera as well as Oseleta. Gives aromatic notes of cherry, plum, cloves, cinnamon, bitter chocolate and vanilla along with cedar and forest floor. Full-bodied with satiny texture and soft tannins, well-structured and balanced. You'll fall in love with this Amarone!
Enjoy with fall roast venison or leg of lamb. Look for it in Vintages in the October 12 Release, just in time for Thanksgiving dinner!
Tasted Sept. 2019 GrandiMarchi
Produced by Masi, Riserva Di Costasera 2013 is a rich, full-bodied, smoky and voluptuous Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico from the Veneto wine region. Produced from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara and Oseleta wine grapes, look for liquid cherry, savoury herbs, smoky spice and sweet tobacco leaf flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm and chewy and the wine could benefit from a few more years in cellar. Try in 2022, or decant two hours prior to pouring with a meaty dish and lots of rich tomato sauce. - Community Wine Reviews
