Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Love this very pleasant and pleasing dry, medium-bodied Pinot Gris (2022) from Hester Creek Estate Winery. Fresh with medium-intensity aromas of yellow apple, pear, apricot, dried fine herbs and minerally flavours balanced with medium-plus acidity fresh, rounded and lingering on the palate. It's just so chill like summer. Tasted July 2023. Chill and enjoy it on its own or with brunch dishes on the patio.

The Pinot Gris grapes for this vintage were hand-harvested from four vineyards mid- to late-September: Block 5 from the winery's Golden Mile Bench Estate property, their Road 7 vineyard, the Chahal Family Vineyard in Oliver as well as from Vineyard Manager, Iqbal Gill’s, vineyard on Road 8. Grapes were hand-sorted, destemmed, and left whole for a gentle pressing. After pressing, the juice was cold settled for three days and racked into stainless steel tanks for a long, cool fermentation of 30 days at 12.5°C allowing the wine to retain its natural, vibrant aromatics and fresh acidity. The wine then blended and aged for four months prior to bottling in early 2023.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Weirdly, this reminds me of the canned apple juice I loved as a kid. Aromas of golden apples, pear, and lemony citrus, with hints of minerality. Medium bodied on the palate, with rounded golden citrus and orchard fruit notes, and a crisp, mineral finish. Enjoy with a classic roasted chicken.
