Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Hester Creek Estate Winery’s Character Red 2021 is an easy-to-love dry, fresh and sophisticated medium-plus-bodied blend of Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Malbec grapes sourced from the winery's Golden Mile Bench estate. Beautifully balanced and fresh with ripe blueberry, dark cherry, cocoa, savoury herbs, with subtle cinnamon, white pepper spice flavours and satin-silky tannins on the palate. Enjoyed with bison burgers from the grill. Tasted February 2023.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blended from Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. Aromas of blueberry, plum, and raspberry, along with hints of cinnamon, black pepper, and cedar. Full bodied, with some soft, drying tannins, bright acidity, and rich dark berry flavours. Lovely spicy notes on the finish. Enjoy with any grilled summer BBQ fare.
