Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2012 Château Des Charmes Gamay Noir has attractive notes of red currant and black cherry on the nose and cranberry, sour cherry and just notable vanilla. It is a light to medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with crisp acidity, subtle tannins and a medium finish. Though intended to be served with food, the wine rewards on its own; drink now and for the next 1-2 years (cork enclosure). My impression: quite NICE, 88-89 pts – recommended for its quality and value. Tasted in May/14.

Paula Bernardino rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

I really enjoy Gamay wines from Ontario. This 2012 Gamay from Château des charmes in Niagara-on-the-Lake won a 2014 gold award. You can smell the cherry aroma as soon as you open the bottle and taste the cherry flavour after a long sip. I enjoyed a glass of it by itself on a cold November evening.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is an excellent turkey with cranberry sauce wine. Light bodied, great acidity, aromas of tart cherry and cranberry. Fruit is bright on the palate and mingles well with the acid. Medium + finish. Great option for Christmas dinner.
