A hulking big red wine blend from Southern France with attractive aromas of smoke, black cherry and dark plum. Layered and textured for meaty dishes. Decant 1 hour. Great value for this price. Wow.

Grenache Syrah Mourvèdre food pairings: rustic stews, meat lover's pizza, hard cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This red is a blend of Mourvedre, Grenache, and Syrah. Ripe dark fruit on the nose, well integrated tannins and a lively acidity. Dark fruit and cocoa on the finish.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A slightly rough edge prevents this wine from hitting 90 points. Nevertheless it is big, bold, and just what you'd expect from a powerful year in Minervois. This wine shows lots of brooding black fruit with Kenya AA coffee, dark chocolate, spice and a hint of grilled herb moving to cigar box. 89 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This wine is 37% Mourvedre, 28% Grenache, and the balance is Syrah. This is a big wine from Minervois, in the Languedoc.
Deeply coloured plummy bluish-black. Dense.
There is a dense nose of chocolate, berries, lavender, leather and vanilla.
Replays of cherry, raspberry, cocoa, tobacco, and a cherry pit finish.
Big, bold red that will age for half a decade with no issues. This one has so much structure, it might be worth laying down a while to let things ease off and mellow.
Put this bruiser with coffee rubbed t-bones, or mushrooms in brown butter
From the South Of France, Château De Sérame (2010) is a 37% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache, 25% Syrah robust red wine blend. The wine has a juicy berry nose, with dark chocolate and black currants notes on the palate. Great value under $20. - Community Wine Reviews
