Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

There is so much yum going on in this wine. Blackberry compote, smoke, iron, plum skin, iodine, warm spice and toasted anise seed. At $19 this is a steal. 92 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Wonderful med-full bodied GSM from southern France. Rich, supple and full of deep dark fruit flavours with smoke, liquorice and lavender. Decent tannins provide great structure to enhance the smooth finish. Paired with BBQ ribs. Tasted August 2017.
John Masur WSET 3, Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Comprised of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 20% Mourvèdre grapes, this wine is smooth and rich with black cherry, blueberry, and blackberry flavours. Hints of herbs, milk chocolate and violets round out the experience. This is a dry wine with moderate tannins that can be paired with most tomato based pasta dishes.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Feb. 27, 2018, Colour ruby red, legs thick. Aromas and flavours of, red berry jam, red plum, black olive, dried herbs, black tea. Taste dry, medium plus body, mouthwatering minus, smooth grained tannin, heat and dried fruit on the finish. I feel people with either love or hate this wine. I like the taste in spite of the peppery hot finish. This wine would pair well with BBQ ribs. I drank it with a dark ground chicken tomato based pasta.
Cave De Roquebrun's La Grange Des Combes Saint-Chinian-Roquebrun (2015) is a 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre red wine blend with wine grapes grown in schistous soils of the Midi wine region. The wine is very fresh as whole-bunch grapes were fermented and aged in stainless steel tank. Drink now and for then next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
