Mouth-brightening acidity and vibrancy in this energetic southern French red wine. Aromas of tart red and black cherry with a lick of spice around every corner. How about prime rib?

Food pairings: game, red meats, spit-roasted rabbit and poultry.

What a lovely nose! Dried and stewed dark fruit, cedar, and balsamic notes on the nose and palate. Appassimento sytle, from the South of France. An absolutely lovely wine to enjoy with rich pasta and stews, BBQ fare, or own its own. Tasted April 2015. 90+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

The nose is quite complex, with rich dark fruit, cedar and anise. Medium bodied with medium acid and soft tannins. The South of France is known for good value wines and this is no exception. A steal at this price!

Smokey, leather and jammy fruit. This is a blend of Syrah and Grenache from the south of France. Lots of fruit on the palette and a reasonable finish. This is a nice wine for the price. I don't usually drink a lot of French wines but I think I need to start! I would use this to cook with - Beef Bourguignon anyone? Half a bottle in the recipe - half in your glass!

Dark red to garnet and fairly opaque. Blackberry, dark cherries sweet vanilla hints and light licorice aromas. Juicy plums and cherry with a smoky oak layer. Full bodied and richly textured. Finishes strong and long with good balance.

Serve this with duck confit raviolis with red wine sauce.

The grapes (syrah, grenache and carrignan) come from three terroirs: the Causses (these grapes, grown at high altitudes, give freshness), the foothills of the Montagne Noire (a hot, arid area whose grapes lend warm, concentrated, complex flavours) and the terraces of the Montagne Noire (temperate sector).

This is a manly wine,bold and sexy à la Burt Reynolds. It offers a nose of Great Outdoors and black licorice. Juicy and strong but without any hard edges;it is quite enjoyable.With pasta bolognaise,or spicy sausages.

Deep ruby, plummy nose with some cranberry/cherry along with pepper and gentle oak spice. The palate replays the nose with plummy and sour cherry notes along with black pepper and spice. Soft and round with good length to this Syrah and Grenache blend. Pair with tenderloin Chateaubriand. Tasted April 2015

The grapes come from three terroirs: 65% come from the eastern Corbières (coastal vineyards yield grapes that lend freshness and elegance), 20% from the edge of the Fitou (a terroir located further south whose grapes offer lovely aromatic richness) and 15% from the Corbières Boutenac cru which give this wine its depth.

The grapes are handpicked and brought to the winery in 40 to 50-kg tubs where they are immediately transferred to tanks without crushing or pumping. Maceration lasts 15 days.

The pressed wine is added to the free-run wine. The wine is aged 40% in barrels (20% new oak) and 60% in stainless steel tanks.

Very intense black colour. Floral nose reminiscent of violet along with fine spices (white pepper), black olive and notes
of humus and tobacco.

Rich and full-bodied on the palate with lovely substance and smooth tannins. Flavours of jammy fruit and baked goods on the finish.
