A fleshy ripe malbec with a touch of dark spice on the finish. Full-bodied and smooth. Great price for such quality. This wine was matured in French oak for 1 year. Lovely cedar and spice on the finish. Try it tonight with asado, the traditional Argentine outdoor barbecue, usually with beef.

Malbec food pairings: turkey, tomato sauces, meaty casseroles, hamburgers, steak and kidney pie.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Black briar, plum skin, spice, dried herbs and dried violets. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautiful colour of purple violets. This Malbec has a bouquet featuring: raspberry, blackberry and blueberry fruit with elements of bramble, cocoa and smoke. These are echoed in the flavours with a burst of crisp freshness on the tongue. Medium plus acidity, medium body and rounded tannins balance the earthy clove and lavender spice persistency in the smooth medium finish. Pair with blue cheese burgers and herbed crusted pork loin. 91 points - September 2016
The 2013 Malbec Q is sourced from La Consulta (Altamira) and Vista Flores. The Uco Valley of the Mendoza region is where the vines were planted at more than 1000 metres above sea level. This is great for having grapes ripen slowly, evenly and fully. The label on the wine bottle symbolizes the Andes Mountains. - Community Wine Reviews
