Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Via Nova's Godello grapes benefit from the warm continental climate in the Spanish DO of Valdeorras, which is great for ripening the fruit, coupled with an Atlantic maritime influence that ensures Godello grapes retain their crisp mouthwatering acidity. Although Godello may not be as popular as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, it certainly delivers great flavour, structure, and acidity, making it a terrific wine to enjoy with food, and great conversation piece too. Via Nova's 2015 Godello shows tart citrus, almonds, olives, and sea breeze on the nose. The palate is crisp, textured, and refreshing, with pithy grapefruit, tart apple, and minerality persisting on the finish making this ideal when enjoyed with Bacalao Ajoarriero (salted cod), Ajo Blanco (almond and garlic soup), oysters on the half shell, or seared scallops with creamy risotto. A great wine for enjoying with a fine maritime meal. Tasted November 2016. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Via Nova Galicia Godello 2015 - Perfume and lemon zest on the nose. The palate has lots of ripe citrus flavors with substantial minerality. Medium bodied / Medium finish.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Aromas of white grapefruit, yellow apples, pear, and lemon. The taste leans more towards the lemon and pear with high acidity and a medium apple and pear finish.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 75/100 with the following review:

Presentation: Modern top label, but difficult-to-read and congested bottom label
Appearance: Very pale lemon colour
Nose: Medium intensity aromas perfume, citrus
Taste: Dry, medium bodied, medium to high acidity, with citrus (lemon rind, white grapefruit rind) and wet minerals
Finish: Medium finish with citrus rind notes
Overall impression: An acceptable white that can be easily drunk by itself or with more savoury foods.
Value: 3/5
