Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A rich, robust and intense 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot red wine blend with grapes sourced from the winery’s Blue Terrace vineyard, North Bench Oliver estate. Dry, full-bodied and powerful with black currant, plum, dark cherry, chocolate and toasty oak spice flavours, vibrant and grippy on the palate. Tannins are firm and structured. While this beauty is starting to show itself now, it will continue to evolve in bottle and can easily cellar for another three years.

Blue Terrace vineyard was planted over 20 years ago and the stony soils found there retain the day's heat throughout the cool evenings allowing the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to ripen evenly and completely. The Merlot adds soft, dark plum flavours to the wine. This wine was fermented for 16 days with remontage twice a day and was then barrel aged for 24 months in French and American oak barriques.

Tasted November 2022 and poured with a roast venison rolled with Swiss chard and smoky Black Forest bacon. Delish!
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely and robust wine, blended from Cabernet Savignon and Merlot. Aromas of cassis, plum, cedar, violets. and woodsmoke. Full bodied, with bright acidity, a soft, velvety texture and soft tannins. Berry flavours are rounded and ripe with some spicy hints on the finish. Lovely all around. Be sure to decant this and then serve with a robust meat dish.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
