Dark cherry, blackberry, black currant and ripe plum aromas on the nose with rich, concentrated dark berry and cherry fruit, mocha and smoky spice flavours finishing long on the palate. Pair with grilled red meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Structured and complex wine from The Foreign Affair Winery, located in the Niagara Escarpment, the conspiracy 2017 delivers flavors of plum, strawberry, black pepper, sweet tobacco and oak. Well made ripasso style wine with a coating finish. Tasted at Taste Ontario, March 2020.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Using the dried grapes of the ripasso method gives this concentrated dried fruit on the nose with inviting raspberry and warm hay notes that carry to the palate. The tannins are chalky and fine. Slightly tart on the finish. Pair with grilled beef or vegetables. Tasted Dec 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

jA medium-bodied blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine was made in the ripasso method of drying grapes to add more flavour and body.
Dried berries in the aroma, with medium tannins and leather on the palate to a dry finish. Pair with BBQ or red meats in a rich sauce.
The Ripasso method used in produced this wine adds a weighty silky richness to it. Love the crushed raspberry, dark cherry and savoury herb aromas. They make me hungry for a juicy steak or grilled rack of lamb. The Foreign Affair's The Conspiracy is a full-bodied red blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. - Community Wine Reviews
