Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Intense and delicious, there’s nothing like a fullbodied and fragrant Amarone to pair with Easter dinner of roast leg of lamb and spring vegetables. Notes of blackberries, black currants, blueberries, coffee, licorice, smoky and herbal hints in a wonderful complex palate, with soft tannins and lingering layered finish. Worked well with the chocolate cheesecake too!
Tasted April 2021
reviewed this wine as follows:

Amarone is made using an ancient method of air-drying grapes.
The wines are intense, rich and Port-like, but dry. This has cherry, dried fruit, fig and pressed-violet aromas.
Superb with roasted meats like lamb, or more exotic dishes such as beef vindaloo.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
