Reviews and Ratings

Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dark, rich and smooth, this affordable Amarone boasts aromas and flavours of figs, dates, cinnamon, vanilla and tobacco leaf. Full-bodied with smooth tannins. Pair with very sharp cheese. Tasted 2019.
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby in colour, this wine has layers of intense flavours including black berries, blueberry, raisin, savoury notes of mushroom, fresh soil, lavender, and refreshing juniper. Full-bodied, the complex flavours last on the warming, supple finish.
Enjoy today or cellar for 3 - 5 years.
Pairs well with complex dishes, rich in protein with a red wine or tomato-based sauce, and blue cheeses.
Date tasted: April 2014
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby colour showing extraction in legs on the glass. A hint of things to follow? Nose hints a developing aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, blueberry, raisin, prune, fig, tomato leaf, vanilla and perfume!!!
Full-bodied and complex. Tannins are evident on the palate. Long length on the warm mouth coating finish. Drink now, suitable for further ageing(to 2019).
Decant 2 hours for best enjoyment.
Roasted red meat, pasta with meat sauce, hamburger with blue cheese melt.
Tasted April 2014
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Priya: This is your 'basic' amazon but there's nothing basic about it. It's a great wine for the value. The taste of rich, sun-ripened raisins create a full, bold, hearty, deep flavour. It's a bomb and will please those who love amazon as well as those who love big, fruity New World reds. A pretty wine too--all in all it's what you'd want and expect from an amazon.

Alex: Priya's hit it right on the head. This is a solid, entry-priced amarone loaded with dried black cherries, nutmeg and tobacco. Not very complex yet smooth and streamlined. Rich on the palate and slightly sweet.
Robert Mongeau rated this wine as 87/100
Meaty and savoury with blackened bacon and black cherry aromas. Not for the faint of heart, or palate. - Community Wine Reviews
