Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

It is a rare treat for me to sample Torrontes in a sparkling form. This dry sparkling wine is fragrant on the nose with aromas of rose, cantaloupe, lychee, clementine, and sweet lemon. On the palate it has citrus flavours, a mix of clementine and lemon, or more accurately pomelo with floral and herbal notes. It is light to medium bodied with vibrant acidity and a crisp finish.

Tasted March 2019.

WINE-FOOD PAIRING: I paired mine with shrimp dumplings. This would pair nicely with with sushi, Asian food, tempura fried asparagus, or with fried seafood appetizers.
Jay Denney rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Having never seen Torrontes presented in sparkling format before, I was pleased to spot this one on the shelf and glad I did. A nose full of flowers, melon, Meyer lemon and lychee. Some of those also come through on the palate, along with tangelo and key lime. Very lively and crisp. Glad I have 2 more bottles to enjoy with some fragrant Thai curry and green papaya salad next time, I think it will be a fantastic pairing.
Made in the traditional method, Tapiz is a well-priced extra brut Sparkling Torrontés from the Mendoza wine region in Argentina. The Torrontés wine grape is very floral, fruity and not usually made in the dry style, but grapes for this sparkler were grown at over a kilometre above sea level. Very fresh, floral and zesty with a light toastiness. Serve chilled and often at this price. - Community Wine Reviews
