Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Strewn has created a perfect blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, in a Bordeaux-style blend. Capitalizing on 2017’s warm ripening season and crafted in small batches in Canadian oak barrels brings about complex yet fruity characteristics. This gem is worth a special order direct from the winery.

Brilliant garnet hue in the glass, boasting aromas of red currant, cedar shavings, leather, vanilla, and hints of anise. Medium plus body, balanced acidity and tannins, and a persistent cherry flavour.
Pair with sausage pasta dishes, or your snootier wine friends.
Tasted May 2021.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine is "extra" Canadian - not only a "Meritage" blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, but also aged in Canadian oak. Aromas of red currant and raspberry, along with notes of leather, warm spices and campfire smoke. Full bodied, smooth on the palate with mouthwatering acidity, and some drying, grippy tannins. Fruit on the palate is rich, ripe, and mouthwatering and balances nicely with some spice and leather hints. Finish is long and slightly drying. Enjoy with a well marbled steak.
