Natalie's Score: 90/100

This is one of three wines made from the same lot of Chardonnay grapes that were then split into three parcels and vinified in three different types of oak, this one being 100% Canadian oak. At 14.8% ABV, this is a heavy-hitter in terms of weight and depth of flavour with guava and and melon. Canadian oak imparts notes of coconut, vanilla spice, and smoke. Viscous and rich. Pair with roast turkey or chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: buttered cold lobster sandwiches, roast duck, cold turkey sandwiches.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pale straw, crisp and refreshing. Medium body, medium alcohol despite a bottle declaration of 14.8 % ABV. Raw apple, green melon and raw almond. Paired well with a quinoa salad with seasonal veggies. Tasted 2016 vintage in August 2018. 89 points
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely, and full flavoured! Aromas of green apple, pear, melon, almond and coconut imparted from the Canadian oak. Full bodied, with a luscious mouthfeel and lots of apple, pear and lemon on the palate. Medium acidity and warm, coconut and slightly smoky notes come through on the finish. Enjoy with scallops in a creamy sauce.
