Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

In honour of November’s Beaver full moon, we cracked open Sperling Vineyards 2019 Pet Nat – a delightfully fine, dry bubble, zesty and food-friendly produced from Perle de Csaba wine grapes planted in 1934, with mandarin, peach, light anise, fine herb and leesy mineral flavours on the palate balanced with refreshing, mouth-watering acidity. The 2019 Pet Nat is Sperling’s best one yet – a delicious, B.C. Okanagan Valley, organic, biodynamic, estate-grown, vegan and gluten-free, naturally-fermented, spritzy sparkler produced by winemakers, Ann Sperling & Rickard Branby. Easy to enjoy at 9% abv, but drink it young. Poured with a scallop ceviche. Tasted November 2020.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

So delicious and refreshing. I find a lot of pet-nat would appeal to beer drinkers and those who love sparkling wine too. Aromas of peach, pear, and mandarins, with a bit of lemon pith and zest and a hint of green herbs. There is also some yeasty, almot hoppy aromas too. Light, fresh and zesty on the palate, with bright citrus and a mineral finish. Enjoy with fried pub fare, maybe fish and chips?

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
