Julia Drinks Wine rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Pixie has been a staple in my life for years. This wine was served at my parent’s wedding, and when my husband and I got engaged, as well as many a birthday and weeknight. It’s a crowd-pleaser, in the best possible way. It’s easy to drink, complex enough that I discover something different in the glass each time I have a glass, and it’s damn enjoyable. Pixie is produced by Rosehall Run, one of the oldest and most esteemed wineries in Prince Edward County (and one of my personal favourites). On the nose Pixie is incredibly fruit forward. Vanilla and rhubarb dominate, without overshadowing what’s in the glass. It tastes like orange blossoms and wildflowers. Honey dew melon, with very light hints of citrus. Strawberries and vanilla again. Honestly, I could take a bath in this wine. I’d like to fill by bathtub with it. Is that allowed? Can I do that? I do have a birthday coming up… Anyway, back to Pixie. When we talk about crowd-pleasers, it often brings to mind something a little more average, but like a great pop song, there’s something in this wine that everyone will like. And that’s a great thing. Truly! It’s freakin’ awesome. Pixie is the song of the summer. The one everyone knows the words to, the one you bop along to. It’s the pinnacle of any playlist and one that you’ll keep playing long after summer’s over.
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Lovely summer drink! Made using the Charmat method from the hybrid variety Vidal and just a touch of Pinot Noir. On the nose, grapefruit leaning towards pomelo with notes of rhubarb, red berries, spearamint, and floral notes. The fruit notes come through on the palate along with crunchy yellow plum and just a touch of sweetness. Pair with salty or spicy appetizers. Spicy salmon sushi anyone? Tasted May 2021
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Same classic Pixie Rosé Sparkling, from Prince Edward County’s Rosehall Run Vineyards in a brand new label! Vidal is the primary grape with a small amount of Pinot Noir. Very pale pink coloured with fluffy bubbles and a vibrant mousse. Aromas of plump ripe white peaches, freshly cut cantaloupes and creamed corn. Flavours reveal red delicious apples and blood orange juice. Light bodied with a clean fruity finish alongside buoyant acidity throughout. There’s always a time for these bursting bubbles, whether celebrating, on a picnic or watching a favourite film, Pixie is a great choice. For added fun, try with some snack foods such as kettle chips, baked brie, pretzels or nachos. Cheers! - Tasted December 2020
