Incredible concentration and mouth-watering lusciousness. There's also 25 percent petite sirah to add depth and layering. Aromas of black fruit, smoke and black tea with dark spices. Terrific concentration of flavour from these old-vine grapes shows through. Remarkable, especially for the price. Long finish, great satisfaction! Pair with a grilled steak.

Zinfandel food pairings: grilled meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Chris Coughlin - WSET level 3 grad rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

A Zinfandel from Lodi California is a beautiful thing, this wine will please the steak eaters in the party. Blackberry jam and bumble berry pie, with a in-your-face warming (alcohol) palate.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A beautiful deep ruby colour. This full bodied wine has aromas of blackberry jam, warm spices and vanilla. The same flavours come through on the palate with pronounced tannins and oak. A fantastic wine for grilled meat on the BBQ.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

August 17, 2014: Medium ruby, the nose shows ripe dark berry, peppery, spicy notes. Full bodied, ripe berry fruit, prune, vanilla spice and heat on the palate, with a long finish turning slightly bitter/stemmy on the end. A few years in the cellar will tame some of the grippy tannins or enjoy now with a grilled striploin with black pepper.
Shelley Harris rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A fruity ruby red wine with full flavours of black cherries and plums. This wine would pair well with a hearty beef stew or a grilled steak.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Spice, vanilla, raspberry on the nose and palate. Well balanced. Another impressive Zin from Ravenswood. Pair with tangy BBQ fare, or spicy asian dishes.
Tasted August 2014. 89 points. Matt Steeves - @QuercusVino
Philippe Perreault, Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Purple color with notes of vanilla, eucalyptus, black current, cherry and oak.

On the palate, this wine from Lodi California is muscular, full bodied and very long.

Pair it with a lamb burger.

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.

Can be aged 8-10 years.
This robust Californian red wine demonstrates why Zinfandel is considered the region's benchmark grape. The 2011 vintage of this wine is a blend of 77% Zinfandel and 23% Petite Sirah grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
