Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

This is classic quality Rioja. Amazing in all facets. It’s incredible density of fresh fruit is matched with dried fruit, dried herbs, sassafras, cola, graphite and root tonics. My favourite Rioja producer.
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A traditonal style of Rioja, and this one is pre aged and ready to drink. Dried fruit and library notes, sour cherry and dried fig. Elegant tannins and fresh acidity on the finish, this wine is gentle and inviting. Try with linguine with fresh seared tuna and olives. @wrightwineblog
From the Rioja wine region, R. Lopez de Heredia Tondonia 2006 Reserva is a 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacho, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo red wine blend. A mature red with its dried strawberry, red berry, leather and smoky vanilla flavours but still exhibiting fresh acidity, good structure and smooth tannins. Finishes long and silky. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
