Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Red licorice and red fruit on the nose. The palate is fruity and smooth. Full bodied with very fine tannins and a decent finish. This wine will appeal to a broad audience. Clean, fruity, substantial with no rough edges. Excellent value. Serve with lamb, duck or grilled vegetables. Tasted October 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A delicious non traditional blend of Garnacha, Carinena, Syrah and Merlot with 9 months of oaking in French and American 300l barrels. It has pure linear fruit, fresh red berries with some leather and spice. The use of oak is noticeable on the palate which is attractive and judicious. Try with rack of lamb with moussaka. @wrightwineblog
Potente 2016 is a great value red wine blend of Garnacha, Cariñena (Samsó), Syrah and Merlot under $20. Grapes are sourced and hand-harvested from the Capçanes highest mountain vineyards. Vines are 50 years of age and grown at 150 to 450 metres above sea level. The wine spends several weeks in cement tank then aged in new and previous-use French and American oak barrels. Look for bright red berry, blackberry, cherry and spicy flavours on the palate with a lingering flinty finish. Pair with a mixed grill of Mediterranean vegetables and game sausages. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
