Such a pretty, floral southwestern Ontario white wine made from the classic grape Riesling. It's late harvest, so the grapes achieved extra ripeness, and therefore sweetness, but this wine just tastes off-dry with its terrific balancing acidity. Aromas of white peach on the finish. Pair with grilled chicken.

Riesling food pairings: lemon curd tart, blue cheeses, pate, fresh fruit cup.

Reviews and Ratings

Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely nose of floral and rose petals, with flavours of golden delicious apple, honey and peach. Off-dry wine with terrific body with lots of flavours going on here.

Would be lovely on a hot summer day or with dessert. You might also want to try with spicy takeout as the sweetness would offset spicy dishes.

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pretty aromas of peach and allspice, with candied fruit(peach, apricot) and crushed cashew on the palate. Bring out the blue cheese and pate!
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

This wine comes from the unique Ontario producer, Pelee Island Winery. This is one of Canada's more historic wine making firms. The early names in Ontario viticulture are dominated by the 19th century winemakers of Lake Erie and Pelee Island. It's a region that is often overshadowed by their larger neighbour (Niagara) today.
This wine was picked a bit later and a bit of sweetness remains behind to give this wine a soft and round mouthfeel.
Pale lemon-yellow, upon opening the wine you are greeted with lovely aromatics of honeysuckle, meyer lemon, grapefruit, and fuji apple.
A juicy and fun wine, it has plenty of upfront ripe fruit. There is some good acidity. It has less than other Ontario producers, likely due to the hotness of the area (it comes from Ontario's warmest region).
It's a great wine for shrimp skewers, a cobb salad, some cut fruit, and soft cheese.Good value, here.
Fun fact: Pelee Island Winery boasts some of the largest holdings of vinifera under a single company (Mission Hill is another big player).
From Pelee Island Winery, Late Harvest 2017 is semi-sweet Riesling from Ontario's most southerly winery. Ripe peach, golden apple an tropical fruit flavours can be found on this medium-bodied, mouth-watering Riesling and a perfect pairing to roast duck. Great value. - Community Wine Reviews
