Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fresh and fruity bouquet displaying black cherry and red licorice. Pleasant balance of crisp acidity, moderate tannins, and a medium body. Finish shows jam and prune with cocoa and earthy character. Oak is subtle and complementary. A very nice red for roast pork, beef brisket, or shepherds pie.
Perry rated this wine as 91/100
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Great value for this perfectly balanced and enticing Montepulciano d’Abruzzo! Alluring aromas of black cherry, black pepper and balsamic reduction that persist into a lengthy and spicy finish. Medium+ body, with balanced acidity and tannins.
Wonderful with mushroom risotto.
Tasted June 2021.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Warm fruit with a hint of Brett on the nose. Rich ripe, red fruit on the palate. Silky and smooth, well balanced. This is a pleasant, simple sipper that would shine beside a spicy pizza, BBQ sausage or spicy pasta. Tasted June 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
A great value 100% Montepulciano D'abruzzo under $20 from the Abruzzo wine region. Niro 2016 is rich in dark berry, cherry liqueur, espresso, sweet dried tobacco leaf, smoky vanilla and toasty oak flavours on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews
