Full-bodied and juicy Chianti Classico with rich aromas and flavours of black cherry, blackberry, smoke and just enough oak. Nicely balanced with a satisfying finish. Supple and smooth, and finishing nicely with oak spice and black fruits. The Mazzei family has been producing wine since 1435.

Chianti Classico food pairings: beef roast, grilled T-bone steak, hard Italian cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Yum. This wine is loaded with black cherry, plum, briar, warm spice and herbs. There is a hit of mushroom and licorice on the finish. Bypass the pasta and pit it against roasted game meat for a truly awesome pairing. 92 points.
Mazzei Fonterutoli 2015 is a full-bodied and lush Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region. Look for smoky blackberries, earthy violets and tobacco leaf on this elegant juicy red made from 90% Sangiovese with some Merlot and Malvasia Nera. Pair with asiago cheese or pepper steak. - Community Wine Reviews
